Pullwood Bay is located in the heart of the Lake District, on the quieter, north west shore of Lake Windermere, two miles from the town of Ambleside and seven miles from the town of Windermere itself. It is only thirteen miles from Kendal and twenty miles from the M6 motorway.

By Road (from both the North and South)

  1. leave the M6 at Junction 36, signposted [A591 South Lakes]
  2. by-pass Kendal, travel through Windermere and continue to Ambleside
  3. at the first traffic lights upon entering Ambleside turn left onto the A593, signposted [Coniston and Hawkshead]
  4. follow the lakeside road and the signs for the [A593 Coniston and Hawksead], turning left at Ambleside Rugby Club and left again over a very narrow bridge
  5. after approximately half a mile take a sharp left turn onto the B5286, signposted [Hawkshead]
  6. almost half a mile along this road you will pass the entrance to Skelwith Fold Caravan Site on your right
  7. after a further half mile or so you will come across the entrance to the estate quite swiftly as you travel round an uphill, left turn, just as you see a right turn signposted [The Drunken Duck] and [Coniston]
  8. turn left into the driveway almost opposite the Coniston road, just before the tudor style Lodge
  9. take a slow drive down the beautiful woodland road that leads through the trees, enjoying glimpses of the lake, down to Pullwood Bay Reception and the start of your holiday

By Rail

Intercity trains (approximately three and a half hours from London Euston) stop at Oxenholme Station (Kendal). There are regular connections from Oxenholme to Windermere Station. Pullwood Bay is a ten minute taxi ride from Windermere Station. Or you could hire a car from Lakes Car Hire Ltd, which is situated two minutes walk from Windermere Station.
