Useful Information

The Drunken Duck is the nearest pub to Pullwood Bay. This is a ‘gastro’ pub and we recommend booking in advance if guests would like to eat there during the holiday. We do hold a table for two each Friday and Saturday evening, at 7.00pm, as a ‘perk’ for guests of Pullwood Bay. If guests wish to reserve this table they must telephone the office. We can sometimes alter the eating time or number of guests for these bookings if requested.

The Tower Bank Arms is also quite near Pullwood Bay – towards Hawkshead. This pub serves more traditional food, and also has locally brewed beers as well as an open fire and warm welcome. Reservations only required Saturday evenings or Sunday lunch times, but it is very popular and can get very busy at all times.  www.towerbankarms.co.uk

There are many restaurants in and around Ambleside that we also recommend ... please just contact the office for more information.

We also have a lovely service available from Cumbrian Way Foods.  This company produce full meals, ready to warm up and serve. We can recommend the meals most highly – we have tried some! This is a great idea if guests wish to have something ready to cook upon arrival, or don't want to spend too much time in the kitchen whilst on holiday! We do accept deliveries from Cumbrian Way Foods on behalf of guests prior to their arrival – subject to notification. If guests mention they are booked into Pullwood Bay they will also enjoy a discount!

We also recommend stopping at Booths Supermarket in Windermere to stock up on delicious provisions prior to your arrival. This supermarket usually has a good selection of fresh produce (including meat, fish and cheese counters) as well as award-winning wine selections!

If guests wish to organise a Tesco delivery, theydo deliver to Pullwood Bay. However, we do require prior notice in orderto accept a delivery on behalf of guests.

If there is anything you would like to ask about eating out, or food storagewithin the apartments, please do not hesitate to contact the office. Telephone 01539 433 333 or email: info@pullwoodbay.com

There are many walks direct from Pullwood Bay if you wish to leave your car behind. Ambleside is only 2 miles away, along with Tarn Hows, Wray Castle and Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top.

We do recommend that you bring an OS map with you for the area – OS7 – and we also provide some walking books for guests to use during their holiday.

Between the Easter vacation and the October half-term holidays guests of Pullwood Bay can also enjoy a trip across the lake, on one of the Lake Cruise boats. Guests must telephone first to organise collection, and then make their way to Pullwood Bay’s private jetty. It is certainly worth trying – there is something so relaxing about travelling by boat! Visit www.windermere-lakecruises.co.uk for more information.
