Useful InformationWe have gathered together various items that may be of interest prior to your arrival at Pullwood Bay, and which may help to make your stay even more relaxing!
Local Food & Drink
v The Drunken Duck is the nearest pub to Pullwood Bay. This is a ‘gastro’ pub and we recommend booking in advance if guests would like to eat here during their holiday. We do hold a table for two each Friday and Saturday evening, at 7.00pm, as a ‘perk’ for guests of Pullwood Bay. If guests wish to reserve this table they must telephone the office. We can sometimes alter the eating time or number of guests for these bookings if requested. www.drunkenduckinn.co.uk
v The Tower Bank Arms is also quite near Pullwood Bay – between Hawkshead and Near Sawrey. This pub serves more traditional food, and also has locally brewed beers as well as an open fire and warm welcome. Reservations are only required Saturday evenings or Sunday lunch times, but it is very popular and can get very busy. www.towerbankarms.co.uk
There are many restaurants in and around Ambleside that we also recommend, just ask!
v Cumbrian Way Food – this local company produce scrumptious, hearty meals from locally sourced produce with no additives or preservatives, ready to warm up and serve. We can recommend the meals most highly – we have tried some! This is a great idea if guests wish to have something ready to cook upon arrival, or don’t want to spend too much time in the kitchen whilst on holiday. We accept deliveries from Cumbrian Way Food on behalf of guests prior to their arrival – subject to notification. www.cumbrianwayfood.co.uk
v Booths Supermarket - we recommend stopping at Booths Supermarket in Windermere to stock up on delicious provisions prior to your arrival. This supermarket has a great selection of fresh produce (including meat, fish and cheese counters) as well as award-winning wine selections! www.booths-supermarkets.co.uk

Sight-Seeing
There are many walks direct from Pullwood Bay if you wish to leave your car behind. Ambleside is only 2 miles away, along with Tarn Hows, Wray Castle and Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top. We do recommend that you bring an OS map with you for the area – OS7 – and we also have some walking books for guests to use during their holiday. Volunteer-led guided walks are also organised in conjunction with the Lake District National Park Authority and further information can be found at www.golakes.co.uk/adventure-capital/walking-lake-district.aspx
Between the Easter holidays and the October half-term holidays guests of Pullwood Bay can also enjoy a trip across the lake, on one of the Lake Cruise boats.
